The heart of the fire

IN THIS COSMOS OF THE MYSTICS, successive wheels and levels of being are forever emanating outwards from the heart of the divine fire. The endless dance of creation ripples out in fiery rings, drawing great wheels around the source of all. 

 

For all the brilliance of this explosion of heat and light, the mystic’s cosmos is calm and serene in its elegant unfolding. Its flames are cool, and unfurl like the petals of a giant lotus against the glowing skies of eternity. Its heart, too, is quiet and still. This is the majesty of being; the ecstatic essence that underlies the great wheel of incarnation. 

 

All the energy in the creation organises itself into these rhythmical rounds. At this vast scale, the chaotic irregularity of life is absorbed within a higher harmony.
