THE PATH MAY BE queerly, even quixotically curly and convoluted, but there are always jewels that sparkle along it, lighting the way through the darkness. These small beacons are there along every path; it does not matter so much which one we follow. But we have to look to the right side of the path to see the lights; if we face the wrong way, nothing but darkness is there.

There is something crablike about this design – an echo of the tenaciousness we need to keep on travelling along these twisting paths in the seeming dark, rocked at times by the waves of a turbulent sea. As we move slowly in towards the centre, every path spirals in to end in a still, calm point where light and dark become one.
