| The plurality of worlds | ||||
|
THERE IS just one sun but five different gardens are growing up towards it, five different flowers are created by the same action of the sun’s energy on matter. In each one, nature has arranged itself into a fresh pattern, endlessly reinventing itself from out of the same basic ingredients. Each garden is a microcosm, a miniature world wrought from the stuff of existence as a new experiment, a new manifestation of the abundance and versatility of the whole.

So it is with us; we are each of us a new garden, formed from the same basic matter and each fashioned with our own unique quality. Maybe this mandala would look more balanced, more perfect if every garden had grown in exactly the same way, but it would also appear less alive, less rich and interesting too. Celebrate the things that make you you, rather than trying to be like someone else. |
