| The garden within | ||||

STEP INTO this cloister garden, and take a rest from the world outside. As the soft sunlight sets the golden stonework aglow, the lush green lawns beckon you to take a stroll in towards the centre. Pass under the dark, topiary hedge into the inner sanctum, and you will start to hear the music of the fountain playing at its centre, and to be drawn by the brilliant flashes of the water catching the light.

Here at the garden's heart, all trace of the world is gone; there is just the stillness and peace in which the water is playing, its clopping sound echoing slightly across the cloister, as its falling weight creates ripples that gently rock the lily pads in the pool. Sit down on the sun-warmed paving, breathe in the fragrant air and linger a while in the garden that is inside each of us, a haven of peace and tranquillity awaiting us whenever we remember to go there. |
