Both the rain and the sun are needed to render the beauty of the rainbow visible. In the same way, the rain that falls in our lives adds sparkle and freshness to the whole, and when the sun starts to shine again, we are sometimes offered the sight of a rainbow that, for a short while, adds an extra richness to life. We can see its joys more clearly in those moments when we are also still in touch with its sorrows.
