RUMI wrote of himself as a ‘sea of poetry’ with ‘no other work’ to do but love. Here is that sea, the soul of the mystic, with many hearts concealed within its dancing waves. It is a sea that is both warm and cool, both red and blue; red with the passionate, ecstatic love of the Sufi, as he burns with the surrender to the divine that will lead to his enlightenment, blue with the cool compassionate love for humanity of the Buddha, the enlightened being.
